We wanted to stay in a relatively new, modern hotel. We stayed at Sandia for four nights in June to celebrate our 20th anniversary and were very pleased. They offer a non smoking section but you must walk through the smoking section to get there which makes no sense. The lobby can get a little smokey from the casino so I just held my nose and ran to the elevator but the hotel really tried hard to minimize the smoke. It is the most wonderful venue to see a concert so check out the summer concert schedule if you can. The outdoor concert of Doobie Brothers and Chicago was outstanding. The hotel is intolerant of outside liquor so use complete discretion! My facial at the spa was excellent but my husbands massage was sub par but the manager quickly adjusted his bill so we felt it was handled properly. There are two comfy reading chairs with ottoman and a mini fridge and safe to use. The bathroom is large and modern with a seperate show stall from the tub. Make sure to ask for a room with a view of the mountain, our picture window had a magnificient view. We asked for a non smoking room far from the elevator (based on other reviews) and our request was accomodated. We were not disappointed in the Sandia Casino and Resort. The sound of some of the adobe style inns wasnt appealing.
